Tonight was my date with Brandon. I fidgeted as my legs shook while Mom tried to help me get ready.

“Relax, Andi. It’s Brandon, whom you’ve known for years.”

“Mom, it’s different. We have known each other for years. I have never seen Brandon other than as friends. It’s a little scary.” I sighed.

She gave me a small smile. “Andi, I know what it’s like to like someone and scared to fall for him without him catching me.”
