My parents kept me home from school for a week. I had to get my arm cast in a few days after the swelling went down. I sat on my bed, working on homework.

I heard a knock at my bedroom door. “Your uncles and Casey are here,” Dad said.

“I don’t want to see anyone.” 

“They wanted to check on you.” 

“Tell them the truth. I trusted the wrong person and got hurt.” 

“Okay.” Dad left my room. I didn’t want to see anyone. My family tried to hug me, and I didn’t want anyone to touch me.
