Spooky: A Halloween Chapter

My friends and I headed to a haunted house for Halloween, but not before Dad scared the living hell out of me.

I opened my bedroom door as someone jumped out at me wearing the scariest mask ever.

“Rawr!”

“Ah!” I heard laughing, stopped and grabbed my chest. “Dad!”

He pulled off his mask while still laughing. “Oh, come on, Bella. It’s Halloween, for Christ’s sake.”

“That wasn’t funny.” I pointed at him.

“I thought it was funny.” He chuckled.

I rolled my eyes, walked past him, and went downstairs.

He followed me. “Now, you know the rules.”
