ARIA’S POV

“What is happening? Why can’t I touch him?”

“Shouldn’t the curse be broken by now?”

I turned to the Elder and Darren. The confusion on their faces was the answer I did not want to hear.

All the layers of the barrier were gone as soon as I touched it, I could feel it, but somehow there was still a thin layer between us that would not let our hands touch and no one seemed to have any explanation for it.

“Aria…we should go.” Darren said softly.

“No!”

A one-word answer was enough. It was the whole sentence and a very complete one.
