Alana was seen walking a little hastily down the prison corridor to visit her father this afternoon. When he arrived at the visiting room door, the officer first checked his luggage.
Making sure nothing was dangerous, Alana was immediately invited to enter directly. He was then asked to wait a few minutes. It wasn't long before the figure Alana wanted to meet was seen walking up to the available visiting table in the room.
" Dad are you okay?"
"Thank God, Dad is healthy. It's amazing that you came alone. Where's Alina or Maria?" asked the middle-aged man.
Even though she lived in a detention house, Alana could see how her father's condition was much better than before. He remembered how the figure he loved had looked thin when he was in prison for the first time.
Maybe, in the past, Felix had fallen because he was shocked to have to live hard in prison. Over time, the man was finally able to accept the situation sincerely. After all, he is aware that what he is experiencing now is a form of responsibility for the evil deeds he has done in the past.
"Alina and Maria are at work, Dad. Maybe next time, the three of us will come together to visit Dad," explained Alana.
After understanding, Alana handed over a box of food she had specially prepared for her father. He was sure his father would not have eaten his favourite menu for a long time since serving in prison.
"Did you bring my favorit food?" asked Felix with a smile.
He had not eaten this food for a long time. Karina, his wife, once a week, likes to bring home-cooked food to him. But for the Padang rice menu, his wife had not given it for a long time because she was worried that the cholesterol disease that Felix had had suddenly relapsed.
"Yes, Alana knows that Dad hasn't eaten this food for a long time. Don't worry, Lana brought all of you some fresh fruit that has been cut as well as a cholesterol-lowering drug so that Dad's disease doesn't recur later."
Felix smiled happily. Without further ado, the man grabbed the spoon that Alana handed him. Then slowly began eating the lunch his daughter had bothered to bring.
"Thank God, Dad's sustenance ate well today. Have you had lunch yourself?"
"That's it. Before coming here, as usual, eat with Maria first."
"You are also surprised to be here all of a sudden. What's wrong? There must be something you want to talk about."
Alana smiled. His father was the most sensitive man he had ever known. From the beginning, whenever he or Alina had trouble or was in trouble, it was as if his father could feel what was happening to them. After all, the father is also the correct and comfortable figure to be a friend to share stories about.
"Alana wants to tell a story and ask permission from Dad."
Felix's brow furrowed deeply. The man hurriedly finished his lunch to hear what his daughter wanted to say. After eating the Nasi Padang in the box, the man focused on looking at Alana, who seemed ready to tell a story.
"You want permission? Permission for what?" he asked. Seeing the serious look on his daughter's face, he became curious.
While Alana herself looked like someone clumsy, maybe he was thinking hard about what words were suitable to convey to his father.
"There is a man who wants to propose to Lana, Bi. In the near future, he will ask Lana to marry him."
Silence for a few moments. Felix seemed to digest what his daughter had just said slowly. I was surprised too. Because two days ago, the wife visited, but the woman did not even discuss their daughter, who might have been proposed to or was preparing to get married.
"Who do you want to marry, Lana? Does Dad know your future husband?"
Alana shook her head.
"Dad doesn't seem to know him. His name is Doctor Elbarack Knight. He used to be Alana's senior in college."
"Doctor? Knight surname?"
"Yes, Miss," said Alana, nodding. "Elbarack is in the same hospital as Kak Asher. He is a neurologist at the Medika hospital. And as Dad heard, he is also of Ba'alawy Arab descent like us. His own parents are oil entrepreneurs."
"Thank God..." Felix thanked. Alana could see the relief on her father's face.
"Soon, Bi. It's just..."
"Just what, Lana? Is something wrong?"
Hearing the princess hanging her sentence, suddenly, one suspicion arose in Felix's mind. It was also clarified by the look on Alana's face, which had been relaxed before, now turned very serious. As a father who is so close that he even knows his daughter's character, Felix believes something has happened to his daughter.
"Lana...." called Felix after the princess didn't answer what she asked before. "You heard Dad's question, right? Don't talk in half measures. You know yourself, Dad's visiting hours are not long. The warden will rush to ask Dad to go back into the detention room."
Alana raised her head slowly. Staring at his father, he locked the chocolate bead in front of him tightly while answering his father's question.
"It's just that Elbarack is already married, Bi."
"You mean?"
Felix could not hide his surprise. Even though the princess was unclear about explaining, her feelings were still worsening.
"Don't tell me you're someone else's husband's mistress, Lana," Felix guessed then. He was afraid to hear the princess' answer to the question he had just asked.
"For God's sake, noi," Alana shook her head. "Lana's not that low."
"Then tell me clearly so Dad doesn't speculate too much."
Once again, Alana took a deep breath. Convinced, the woman tried to explain what was happening to her at this time.
There is a feeling of fear too. He was worried that his father would become emotional or angry because he had accepted Vivian's request to become his husband's second wife.
"Elbarack actually already has a wife whose name is Vivian. And his wife was Lana's best friend when she was in college. For one reason or another, it was not possible for Vivian to have children. Because Vivian knows that when she was in college, Lana used to like and love her Elbarack, he asked Lana to be his husband's second wife."
"Then you are willing to be the honey of your best friend's husband?"
Alana nodded slowly, which answered left Felix speechless. I am trying to figure out what her daughter is looking for. Why would he accept his best friend's request to become a second wife?
"Are you sure about your decision?" asked Felix then. "You have everything, Lana. It shouldn't be a difficult matter to find a partner according to your criteria. After all, there are many men in this world. Why do you have to be a second wife?"
Just like Maria and Alina, his father also asked the same question. Alana also needed clarification about what motivation made her agree to accept Vivian's request.
Is he too sorry for the fate that befell Vivian? Or the love for Elbarack that Alana had worked so hard to bury before is now returning to the surface.
"Lana couldn't bear to see Vivian. She even prostrated herself asking Lana to grant her wish."
"Tsk!" Felix was heard clucking. According to him, it was a cliché for the reasons Alana had just said. "You feel sorry for other people's fate without thinking about yourself? Polygamy isn't easy, Lana. Dad is sure that jealousy is bound to exist. Are you ready to feel something like that?
Alana nodded.
"Lana has prayed istikharah. I have asked for guidance too. God willing, Lana is sure of this decision."
It was Felix's turn, who seemed to catch his breath repeatedly. Seeing how confident the princess was, he couldn't do anything else.
"You're an adult, Lana. You know what's the best and what's not. If you're sure of yourself, what can Dad do other than give his blessing?"
Alana smiled. He knew how hard it was for his father to give his blessing. He is also sure that there must be worries that haunt his father's mind about his fate in the future.
"God willing, Lana will be fine, Aunt. As long as Dad and Mommy approve, Lana's household will surely be happy, later on."
"Aamiin ... Dad will definitely pray for the best for all of Dad's children."
Continuing to smile, Alana grabbed Felix's wrist. She was kissing him reverently while being grateful that his father wanted to give his blessing for the decision he had made. With this, Alana promised herself in the future. She had to take care of her household to disappoint the people around her best not.
"But, Lana..." continued Felix later. "Dad's sorry. Maybe we can't marry Lana like what Dad did to Alina."
Alana looked up. She was nodding in understanding with what his father had just said.
"No problem, Dad. Lana understands Dad's current position. If you just give her blessing, that's more than enough."
"By the way, when did your husband-to-be come to propose?"
"As soon as possible, Miss. What is certain, tonight Elbarack and Vivian will come to the house first to ask Mommy's permission. If there is an agreement, then talk about plans for a proposal and then marriage."
"Whatever it is, Dad wishes the best for you, Lana. Since you have made your choice, Dad hopes that there will be no regrets in the future."
Alana nodded. Again he grabbed Felix's handcuffed wrists and kissed them reverently. After receiving the blessing of his father, he decided to go home.

"Mommy, what are you doing? It seems really troublesome? Do you want Alina to help?"
Alina, who today is still at the residence of the extended Frost family, seems to be wondering when she sees her mother busy preparing some cakes to be served. Alina was curious whether there was an important guest so her mother was as alive as she was now.
"No need," said Karina. "Mommy is just cutting brownies."
"For what purpose do you prepare this many cakes? Do you have guests?"
"Yes, Na. Tonight after evening prayer, Alana's guests will come to the house. Besides, your husband is also coming home today, right? So, as well as Mommy, buy lots of cakes for us to eat together."
"Guest? Whose guest, Mi?" Alina was getting more and more curious. Indeed, he is also the type of person who is quickly interested in the home.
"If I'm not mistaken, his name is Doctor Elbarack. He said it was a man who wanted to propose and marry Alana at the same time."
Aline gasped. He was sure of what he had just heard from his mother. Some time ago, he had advised Alana not to accept the offer to become the second wife of his own best friend.
"Alana is marrying doctor Elbarack? Then will Mommy give permission?"
Karina just smiled. She had expected her youngest daughter to protest when she heard this news. In the Frost family, Alina likes to speak up or protest when something doesn't suit her heart and way of thinking.
"We'll see what it's like. After all, Alana is an adult. She knows what her decision will be. Whether you accept Doctor Elbarack's proposal or not, you have no right to intervene."
"But, Mommy, this is Alana, her position will be the second wife. What will people say later?"
"Yeah, so what if you become a second wife? After all, the first wife herself forced Alana to marry her husband, right? Even if we live straight, there are bound to be people who don't like it. So why bother too much about the views of other people who don't like it? even the slightest contribution to our lives."
Aline needed help with words. It is no longer able to refute the arguments that his mother conveyed. Inside, I could only pray that Alana would not regret her decision.
So after evening prayer, Elbarack finally came with Vivian at eight in the evening. Greeted so kindly by Karina and also Alana. Both of them were sitting comfortably in the living room.
"Thank you very much Mommy for the warm welcome. I am very happy that Elbarack and I are allowed to visit here."
Vivian never stopped smiling. Wearing a milk chocolate two-piece hijab, the woman looks beautiful tonight. At the same time, Elbarack himself looks more smiley than before. The man even looks friendly to invite Karina to chat.
