Kings' Supermarket

Around a long desk sat the stock clerks, visual merchandisers, supermarket assistants, and other clerks in the conference room for their monthly meetings. In front of each of them were bottled water and a mug of hot black coffee which aided in lightening up their morning. On the wall was a large whiteboard for displaying photos and videos of upcoming products.

An elderly man dressed in a suit came in through the glass door as everyone got to their feet. He was the manager of King's supermarket.

"Good morning everyone."

"Good morning sir."

They sat and the secretary read out the minutes of the last meeting.

"Stock clerks, what do you have to offer?"

Lora stood, representing the stock clerks.

"I can say we've been trying our very best to ensure that new products are available for sale. All thanks to the new merchandiser, he had been on it lately, creating mind-blowing ideas for new designs and it had been working out." She glanced at Austin before sitting.

Austin on the other side couldn't believe it. Did Lora just praise him now? Wow! He felt butterflies in his stomach as he smiled inwardly...while Fred, his colleague glared at him in his absence, his face puce with jealousy.

"Kudos to you Austin!" Manager complimented

The rest of the officials gave reports about their field of work. Some were complemented and some were reprimanded.

"Let's call it a day ." He got up and left, followed by the workers.

Lora gathered her files and left the conference room as Austin followed her instantly.

"Lora?" He called softly

"Hey, Austin!"

"Thanks about earlier." He said rubbing his palms shyly

"What happened earlier?" She asked trying to recall

"You commended me for my job."

Lora giggles

"That's not something you should thank me for. You see, one thing I discovered in life is that, we get to know a person's worth, their importance, when they are gone and that's why when you see someone doing a great job, compliment them for an excellent one tomorrow and so they wouldn't feel neglected."

She smiled conclusively.

"Woah! Never knew you were one good motivational speaker. coach me more."

Austin said and Lora couldn't help laughing.

"You're funny. Anyway, I have a few things to round up with at the office. We talk later okay."

Lora made to leave then...

"Hang on! How about I get your contact already, Please."

Lora exhales sharply. This dude wouldn't give up.

"Your phone?" She stretched her right hand

"Oh, here."

She collected it and inputted some numbers then gave it to him. Her contact was saved with *My responsibility* but he didn't let her see it.

"Done. Thanks again, Lora."

"Pleasure's mine. I guess I can take my leave."

She said.

"No way! Let's hop around like a frog."

Austin teased and she resumed laughing again. She laughed like it was her first time laughing again after two years and Austin enjoyed it even though she was sounding horrible. He kept close tables at her.

"I love to see that smile on your lips."

He said without even realizing it.

"Sorry?"

"It's nothing. You should leave already." He reminded

"Sure. You too."

She smiled disarmingly and left as Austin stared at her retreating.

BILL FLOWER COMPANY

Knock! Knock!

"Who's it?" Bill asked as Tina, his new secretary came in. She didn't wait to be told.

"Must you always ask who it is before you can let in when you know I am the one knocking?"

Bill looked up from his system as Tina complained.

"You know you don't have the guts to yell at me cuz I have got every right to fire you, anytime, any day."

Tina blinked twice, approached him, and hung one of her legs on his table, revealing her bikini. She looked sexy all through, wearing a mini skirt that exposed her alluring legs, and her cleavages weren't hidden in her shirt. Bill drooled over her as he was unable to tear his lustful eyes away from her tempting body. He thinks he needs this body.

"What do you want?" Bill asked, extremely serious.

"Here's the list of flowers that need to be supplied and customers that booked our hall for occasions."

He collected the file and flung it on the table, meanwhile, Tina caressed his chest passionately.

"I can tell from the look in your eyes that you are drooling over me, Bill..."

Tina didn't complete her statement cuz Bill had shut her up with a hard deep kiss. He carried her and made her sit on his table as he reached for a packet of condoms, unsealed it, and wore it on. He unbuttoned her shirt completely and started making love to her until they had reached climax.

It was past six and Kings supermarket closed for the day as usual. Austin hounded his car which had been parked outside the supermarket and without taking much time, he drove home. His house was a few miles away from the supermarket. He lived in an imposing duplex with his mother and Jessy, his darling younger sister in her teens.

He pulled off under the garage and headed towards the door. He rang the front doorbell and instantly Jessy opened up. Their mother wasn't home yet.

"Austin!" She hopped on him.

"C'mon Jessy, you're weighty."

"Don't start again." She made a silly baby-like face as she folded her arms.

"Stop it, girl, you know I was only pulling your legs." He released the king's chocolate from his hip pocket, this was the only thing that would cheer her up. "Take this and give me a smile, will you?"

"Chocolate!" She hopped on him again "You're the best brother in the whole world."

Austin wriggled free and smiled lopsidedly.

"I know." He started towards the kitchen

"There's no food!"

"I never asked." And he started going to his room. Jessy already knew her brother, anytime he returned from work, he would first visit the kitchen if not the fridge to see if there was any food and as expected, he got * No food* as an answer.

On getting to the room, he took off his belt, and ID card, and undressed subsequently, left with his undies as he exhaustedly and lazily flung his body on the bed. "What a day!" He said and suddenly remembered that he had collected Lora's number and needed to place her a call. Then he grabbed his phone and dialed her number without taking much time. What if she's asleep? No! I shouldn't disturb you, it's late. He thought and cut it but unfortunately, her phone was ringing. After a few seconds, she recalled.

"Heck! She called." He exclaimed as he straightened from the bed. "It's not like there's something relevant I want to discuss with her just hello, how're you...anyway, I should answer it."

Austin summoned courage and picked up Lora's call.

"Hello! Whose on the line?" She said. Her voice sounded more angelic on the phone than physical.

"Lora, it's Austin."

"Hey, Austin."

"Yeah."

"Is there a problem Austin?"

"Yes, there is."

"Really? What could that be?"

"The problem is...I called to check up on you." He said smiling broadly.

"And there he goes again. Just hang up and go to bed Mr teaser!"

Austin laughs.

"I won't, not until you have." He blurted.

This sounded differently to Lora and instantly Austin realized it from her silence and he was forced to rephrase it.

"Urm...I meant you should go to bed, it's late." He said, half grinning.

"Yeah, sure. And thanks for your concern."

She rang off immediately. Meanwhile, Jessy had been standing behind the door, eavesdropping on their conversation.

"New lady I guess." She said as she passed, eating her unfinishable chocolate.

As soon as Lora rang off, she saved Austin's number and flung the phone on the bed as she subsequently rounded up with dressing her hair for the night bed without realizing that Isha had also been eavesdropping.
