Lucinda woke up startled in her bed. She looked around, everything seemed fine; she was in her room at Joaquim's castle. The woman rubbed her eyes as she woke up, feeling confused, hoping that everything she remembered was just a nightmare. She noticed that her beloved was not there and decided to look for him. Getting out of bed, she put on a coat over her dress and left her room. She noticed that the atmosphere in the place was strange; she saw the servants rushing around with papers under their arms.
