It was happening, yet I couldn't believe it. I felt my whole life being destroyed right before my eyes - everything I had ever hoped for and longed for was thrown away into the wind.
My hatred for Drake grew as the seconds ticked by. If the moon goddess was kind enough to grant me a chance, I would bring them all to their knees.
Trudging along the forest, dried leaves crackling under my feet, the wind howled, making the night even more eerie. The only thing visible was darkness, soon illuminated by the half-moon adorning the sky.
Tears welled up in my eyes as I looked up. Was this my fate? The full moon would soon be upon us. Would I face it alone? I could die or turn feral without my mate beside me. Lost in thought, I meandered without a sense of direction until I stumbled upon a small town not far from Riverdale. It seemed calm at first sight, but then I recognized a familiar bar, Raves.
My heart raced at the idea of being in my father's territory. Drake had suggested we go there together before, but I always declined, citing a dislike for social places. In truth, I feared being recognized by any of my father's men.
After he banished me, he concocted a story portraying my mom as a liar and cheat who had an affair with a human and bore me. Anyone who knew my lineage would likely seek to inflict pain upon me for fun.
In the past, I relied on Drake's protection, albeit based on lies. It had meant something to me during that time.
Nicole was undoubtedly stronger than me, perhaps why he chose her. Pushing those thoughts aside, a bold idea formed in my mind.
I needed to escape my suffering. Something to lift me from the depths of despair.
"What's a beautiful lady like you doing out here?" a voice rang out. I turned swiftly towards the bar entrance and saw an average-height blonde beauty with bold red lipstick, exuding fearlessness. "Care for a drink?"
After pondering for a moment, I shook my head slowly. "I'm just observing the surroundings," I replied, offering a faint smile while hugging myself against the dropping temperature.
She gave me a skeptical look. "Sure, whatever, but you can't stay out here. I don't know if you're looking for trouble, but come inside for a change of clothes. You look awful."
She was already walking away, leading me to the back of the bar. I didn't know who she was or how she was connected to the bar, but I followed her. If I wanted to have the night of my life, I had to do it in style, not in some torn clothing they spared me.
I was about to delve into another ocean of reliving my hate for all of them, but the strange girl's voice called out again, this time with an impatient edge to it.
"You're coming?" She raised a brow, holding the door of what I think should be a bathroom. I walked into the small space and let her work her magic on me.
"You should try this," she said nicely, handing me a black body-hugging dress that accentuated my curves. "And I'm Layla."
"Nice name, I'm Avaline," I said with a faint whisper as I checked the clothes out. From the sight of it, I could tell it would be very skimpy on me, and hell, it was. It made me look like a woman. I let my hair pour onto my back as I fixed my eyeliner to cover up those eye bags. By the time Layla walked into the room after she went for a change of her own dress.
"Wow, you look stunning, Avaline," her mouth dropped. "I have never seen anyone look as beautiful and hot as you do right now, Avaline. I don't know what messy break-up you've just been through, but with a face like that and a body like this—get yourself on the game, girl!"
"Game?" I asked foolishly, and she waved her hands in the air.
"Still so uptight, you need to loosen up," Layla smirked and sprinted off, returning shortly after with two bottles of tequila. "This would do the trick, though I'd prefer Martini."
"What's that?" I asked, squeezing my face as the liquid hit my tongue, and almost in an instant, I felt my head get slightly buzzed.
"It's a drink but so much stronger than this," she gestured to the tequila she was handing over to me.
I began to feel good after a couple of shots.
"Fuck you, Drake! Fuck you, Nicole! Fuck you, Dad!" I yelled as we ran like lunatics into the private bar, joining the heated dance the crowd was already in.
"This feels so amazing!" I whispered over the music, and Layla flashed me an 'I told you so' look.
"Now we just need to get you laid," she said with a mischievous smirk before scampering away.
The girl disappeared and popped back in as if she possessed some telepathic powers.
My thoughts were cut short when a hand grabbed my waist from the back, pulling me flush against his muscular body.
"You're a strange one kitten, what are you doing in my vip bar?" He whispered against my ear and I felt heat rush straight down to my core at how sexy he sounded and how this d**k poked my a** through his trousers.
In a nanosecond I flipped around, wrapping my legs around his middle. He was so handsome, cold grey eyes with an extremely well carved jawlines. He looked like god!
"Maybe I want you?" I smirked slyly, my pupils dilating with desire.
"Kitten,"He warned, but I was all for taking risk tonight. His eyes dilated with lust as I rubbed my hands against his hardened member, he pulled me away from the crowd and bursting music towards the kitchen were the drinks were being served.
"Get the hell out!" He ordered them, power exuding him as his chest heaved. When the kitchen was empty, he turned to me with a devious smirk before lifting me to the counter and shifting my gown up,
He cursed under his breath as his fingers worked their way to my panties, his knuckles brushing it in a slow and steady rhythm as his lips devoured me.
A moan when he slipped a finger in and that was it. The rest of the night went blank.
****
I woke up with a start with an unmistakable pain between my legs.
I was in a familiar room, I panicked flickering on the light and I was met with a photo of my mother that I had always kept in one place.
My father's mansion and my room.
My blood froze.
I was in my father's pack.
I was in freaking, Hallow Pack!
"I see you're awake." Alpha Graham spat coldly, his eyes draining the life out of me.
