CHAPTER NINETY-NINE

HAZEL’S POV.

The cab drove away quite speedily, and I stared once more at the house in which I'd spent my childhood, and most of my teenage years. 

I sighed. I was back to my house. The kids stared at the house with curiosity, taking in every little detail with awe on their faces. It wasn't much, but compared to the dingy little building Xander forced us to stay in, it was definitely a huge thing for them. 

I rang the doorbell, and we waited for a while, until stepfather suddenly popped his head out of the window. My heart took a jolt, and I got cold feet....
