I turned over the bed and couldn't find Rowan. A frown formed on my face, and I stood up, sliding into my flip-flop at the edge of the bed. The room was dark, and I flicked on the switch. My frown deepened when I saw the room door slightly ajar, and from the opening, I could see Elara's room open too.
No. No. It couldn't be what I was thinking. No. Rowan wouldn't be doing that. But the way my heart raced told me something different. Flashes of all the warnings I had received from people concerning Elara began to surface.
