I felt something slippery pool down my legs as I stood behind the counter of the bakery, about to hand over some croissants to the customer who was in front of me.

My eyes flew wide in surprise as I looked down. Had my water broken? And, as if to answer my question, a sharp and intense pressure washed over my lower abdomen and I could feel my eyesight getting blurry.
