Lots and lots of assignments were waiting for us, and I needed to do it as soon as I got home so I could focus on other things.

I guess Adrian had other plans in mind. No wonder he wanted me to stay with him. Now that it made sense, I was happy I agreed because deep down I knew if I didn't, he wouldn't get mad and do what I asked anyway.
