I navigated the city streets in a daze, the soft whine of the engine the only break in the silence. My heart still stunned by shock at what George told me. "Because I still love you".
I held the steering wheel in white-knuckled fists. He had no business saying that. Not after all this.
My wolf, Whitney, growled uncomfortably under my skin. "He's not lying," she reminded me.
I laughed. "Don't mean he needs a second chance."
