The hospital room had a faint light, the gentle whir of machines filling the air as I laid in bed, tired yet brimming with eager expectation. The pain I experienced earlier had arrived in waves, more intense than I had anticipated. After what seemed like an eternity, the doctors had reassured me that the baby would arrive shortly. However, at this moment of calm before the ultimate effort, all I could focus on was the new life I was about to bring into the world - as well as the world itself, with its unpredictability and unknowns.
