Sophia's POV
The footsteps drew closer, heavy and ominous. I could feel the vibrations through the cold hospital floor as the pain wracked my body, each contraction stronger than the last. I knew the baby was coming, and there was nothing I could do to stop it.
Emma's hands trembled as she tried to comfort me, her face drained of color. "Sophia, hold on. We can't let them find us here."
