The morning sun leaks through the window blinds, warm and soft against Eren’s skin.
He blinks slowly, staring up at the white ceiling above him. For the first time in what feels like forever, the fog in his head is starting to lift. His limbs feel heavy, but his heart… his heart is pounding.
He remembers, not everything, but enough.
“Octavia…”
Her name escapes his lips like a breath he’s been holding for years.
He immediately sits up, pain flaring through his side, but he pushes through it. The hospital room is quiet, nothing in sight but a glass of water, still sitting untouched on the table....
