"You'll be fine, Selene" Carmen declared, taking several steps backward. "Take this as a test. This might be a sign."

"But...." My words trailed off as I saw a glass-like barrier surround her. Suddenly, a thick fog appeared and wrapped up the barrier, shielding Carmen.

I couldn't even see a thing.

"Carmen!" I called, but there was no response.

"I won't let her stop us!" The rogue behind me declared. "I'll kill her after I'm done with you."
