I fell back, sobbing in relief.
The nurses moved quickly, cleaning the lightly then wrapping her in soft blankets.
“It’s a girl,” Dr. Javier announced with a smile.
They placed her in my arms first, and I held our daughter for the very first time. My tears ran freely, my whole body shaking as I cradled the little life I had just brought into the world.
“She’s perfect,” I whispered.
Killian leaned in, pressing a kiss to both of our foreheads. “You both are.”
