I didn’t know what I expected to see when Killian shouted ‘bring in the traitors,’’ but it definitely wasn’t Lovena and… Ella.

I blinked hard, my heart thudding in my ears.

It wasn’t that I was shocked Lovena had poisoned me, that part made perfect sense. What stunned me was how fast this all happened, and seeing Ella at her side.

Ella?

My mind reeled. Wasn’t she Valerie’s little lapdog? Always running back to her with gossip? If Ella had been working with Lovena this whole time… did Valerie know?

Did Valerie know her pawn was helping the very woman trying to steal she also desired?
