"Let's go back to the normal way," Emily said, looking everywhere but me.

I tried to ignore how those words hit me. Strangely.

"Is that what you want?"

"Hm," she muttered.

"Fine"

"Goodnight," I added and walked out of the kitchen.

'I shouldn't have kissed you.' Her words resounded in my head as I made my way upstairs. I fought to stop myself from turning back and going to meet her in the kitchen.

It would be totally stupid of me to do that given I was the one who made those stupid rules in the first place.
