EMILY
It was the evening of Saturday, and it was thirty minutes until dinner time.
Charlie was visiting her parents, so I stayed at her house to prepare myself and mostly because that's where Alex would pick me up.
He had just texted me, saying the driver would be here soon, and I'm just seated on the couch and trying not to lose my mind.
A few minutes later, I had a phone call from an unsaved number.
I picked it up, hoping it was the driver.
“Good evening, ma'am. I'm your driver, sent by Mr. Wyatt. I am now outside your house.”
“Oh, thank you; I'll be out now.”...
