**Benedict’s POV**

I came back from the office with a headache that had nothing to do with work.

Sam had called three times. Each message shorter than the last. I didn’t answer. I already knew what he wanted—another pointless conversation about the branch project, another reminder that Father expected us to “present a united front.” I had nothing left to say to him. He knew I was useless in that house. So why keep summoning me?

Father would take his side? Mom would kiss his wounds so what was my deal in this shitty house? Or did he find something out between me and Katherine?
