What's happening? Am I dead?

My mind felt foggy. For a moment I couldn't tell whether I was dead or alive. I did feel this pain and burning in my chest till something huge slammed me so hard into my chest, I felt it come up and out my throat and out my mouth. I coughed, spitting out all that water and coughing again. I was definitely alive.
