Kimberly POV

"It's now or never," I said to myself, I stopped making them think I stopped as I heard them stop too.

"1...2...3.." I count and then, "Vammm…" I took off like a flash using all my straight, I ran out but several footsteps were behind me running towards me.

"Get her……." They screamed.

I didn't look back as I continued to run with all the strength I had. I never knew I could be fast like this, which means I wasn't that of a weakling after all. I continued to run and when I'm sure there were no more footsteps behind me I stopped and bent down as I gasped for breath like someone who ran a marathon, but it is more like a marathon because I could count the distance from where I started. It was like running around the whole pack.

I turn to look around my surroundings only to see I'm now in a different place, maybe a town or something. I carried my bag and walked further into the place and arrived at a marketplace. I was looking around like a stranger while everybody went about their different destinations. I had no one. I don't even have a place to lay my head once it's down and most of all I'm hungry. I haven't had anything to eat since last night that I ran away.

I passed by a group of men, who sat at a round table gambling. I stood and watched as the other man hid his coins. I wanted to interfere and tell the others that the man was cheating but then...I looked at myself and looked at the people playing the gambling they all looked dangerous, so I walked away deciding to mind my own business.

I clung to my bag tightly as I walked slowly into the market. I prayed silently for a helper even if I had to walk to at least have some food. I was slowly losing my strength, I feel like I might pass out very soon. I have been walking around this market since morning and now it's noon yet I had no one to turn to.

I decided to sit down in a corner and rest my head. I found a corner at the market, and thanks to the moon goddess I was able to find a place with shade. I sat down and used my bag to support my head, and slowly I fell asleep.

I was still asleep when I felt a tap on my shoulder. I released a yawn and looked around the whole market. I sprang up immediately when I saw the whole place was already dark. I cleaned my eyes with my hand and was surprised to see a middle-aged woman standing before her. I look around and see that the market is already getting so crowded as everybody is busy packing up their goods.

"Good evening mam" I greeted, she touch my cheeks and look at me,

"What are you doing here child?"

"Err….." I scratch my neck not knowing what to say.

"Do you have a place to stay for the night?" She asks

"No…." I drawled and shook my head negatively. She sighed and looked around the whole market.

"Come with me," She said, I looked at her from head to toe, she doesn't look like a bad person, I took a deep breath and thought, I don't have a place to lay my head on and I haven't had anything to ear. She didn't look poor nor did she look rich. After much thinking, I decided to go with her.

"So have you decided, will you come to me, dear"

"Mmmm" I nodded my head at her.

"Come with me," She said and I nodded my head.

She started walking gingerly beside her. We walked for some time before we arrived at a spot in the market where cars are parked. She walked towards a particular car, and one of the guards that stood there opened the door for her. Immediately they saw us coming, making me wonder who she was. She entered the expensive car and waved for me to come in. I looked at the guards Whose faces looked like stones, but that's the least of my problems. "Come in child" I heard that voice, I looked to see the woman beckoning me to come in.

I gulp down saliva and enter the car. I felt chills run down my spine as I suddenly felt cold. My father might be rich but I have never stepped into a car before, especially this type of expensive car. The woman noticed how I hugged myself, and she instructed the driver to turn down the air conditioning.

"Thanks, mam," I said to her with a smile

"It's nothing child" She replied with a smile.

I sighed inwardly wondering why she's calling me a child, I mean I'm twenty-four and I look thick and robust, so why is she calling me a child, but I decided not to let that bother me as I have more important things to think about. I was still in thought when the car pulled up in a very big house which looked like a castle, a house that is huge enough to contain half of the city.

I came down from the car after the guards open the door for us from both sides, the woman came out From the other side while I came out from the other side, I was wowed at the view before me, I have always thought that my formal packhouse is huge but this is nothing compared to that, as this is a complete paradise.

I looked at the top of the building and saw Alpha Augustine Empire boldly inscribed at the top. I felt chills down my spine and shoulder in fear, "No this can't be happening" I told myself.

Who doesn't know Alpha Augustine? I have been hearing of him since I was a kid. According to what I heard, he's the strongest Alpha ever known and he's a very dangerous man.

I haven't seen him before but from what I heard and from his name alone, no one needs to tell you that you'd run at the sound of his footsteps.

"Follow me dear" I turned to see the woman smiling at me, I scratch my neck nervously.

I wanted to ask where I am when my wolf smelt a strong scent, coming from nowhere. Even if the scent was far, I could feel that it was coming from a very strong creature, and the aura seem to be dark and intimidating.

A strong wave of curiosity flashed through me, and giving in to it, I found myself, looking around to trace the scent. My wolf kept sniffing and tracing the strong scent. It's becoming so close.

My breathing intensified. A strong wave of violent wind, filled the entire place making making me staggered..

Raising my gaze, I was met with the back view of a man, standing elegantly, just a few paces away from me...

I stared at the man, standing with his back, facing me.

He was dressed in all black, his thick black shiny hair, clinging to his head, his strong and intimidating aura, was one of a hell.

Even if he wasn't looking at me, I know his face must be one of those scary faces the characters do take in wolf series. I've read so many books, that's what keeps me company back at home, I read mostly about werewolves.

My heart came beating again.

"Mate" Amber said and I frowned.

"Kayden is my mate. How's this possible?"I asked her.

"It's seems the moon goddess looked pity on us and gave us a second mate" Amber said happily.

I turned to look at the woman who brought me here and asked the question that has been bothering me.

"Ahh...mam please can you tell me where I am?" I ask her nervously, she looks at me and smiles

"Consent moon packhouse, that's where you are and I'm Alpha Augustine Aunt. And that's the over there" She concluded with a smile and pointed at my supposed second chance mate.

Alpha Augustine my second chance mate?

And I'm in his territory?

I heard a loud bang in my head followed by a splitting headache. I held my head tightly but the pain hit me again.

"Ahhh….." I screamed and passed out.
