By the time I reached the gate, the red light on the security camera had blinked off. I had parked down the road nearby, so one would see my car. My heart pounded in my chest, but I didn’t hesitate. “I only needed to dash in and dash out,” I told myself.
I hurried inside and slipped through the kitchen door at the back. I had picked up one or two from my adventure holidays, so picking a lock was the least of my worries.
I got in and sneered my lips at the arrangement of the house. Nothing was cute about it. Just normal and boring.
