“You disgust me.” Those were the only words that came to my mind to express how disappointed I was that she could easily betray my trust in her. As the office door slammed behind me, the echo resounded in my chest like a cruel sound of everything I didn’t want to feel.

Or had I overreacted? A part of me felt I was projecting all the betrayal I had experienced in the past from people I trusted onto Zara. But whatever it was, she deserved every word I said.
