Zara’s POV

I was welcomed by a tense atmosphere. Everyone was present and gave curious looks as to the reason my father called for an emergency meeting.

My heart was still pounding loudly in my chest as I located my seat. Evelyn took her usual place beside my father, and Madilyn next to her. They acted like one perfect happy family. It ached sorely to see that, but that wasn’t the problem in that moment. 

My father cleared his throat after mounting the podium. “Welcome, everyone. Directors and Managers all across our branches. Thank you for honouring my sudden invitation,” he started with a warm tone.
