Zara’s POV

The image of Leo walking away from me last night, cold and unreadable, kept me awake for a longer time than usual. I ended up barely sleeping. 

I had expected not exactly happiness, but something like a smirk, or a sarcastic look, or anything that told me he was on the same page with me, and he was also thinking of how we would end our alliance. Instead, he had just…shut down like I pressed a forbidden button or something.

Maybe I was wrong to ask so soon. Maybe it sounded like I couldn’t wait to be rid of him. But it felt like something we should prepare...
