Did I survive the beating? I think I can feel my heart beating which wouldn't happen if I were dead. I also can hear voices. 

"It's a weak creature, the wounds will definitely take time to heal," I hear an unfamiliar female voice say. "Why would you surrender your earnings to save an envious human anyway?" 

"She is not an ordinary human," the familiar voice of the assistant of the angel kings answers and the person scoffs.
