Late Nights & Tension

The bar night with Mia left me restless. I barely slept, her words echoing in my head: “You deserve to have some fun while she’s gone.” Sarah’s voicemail was cheerful when I finally listened to it talking about her presentations and how much she missed our bed. I felt like shit replying with “Miss you too, babe. Work’s crazy here,” but the guilt didn’t stop my mind from drifting back to Mia.
