The weekend felt like stepping into another world. No work emails, no pretending, no running from what had happened Thursday night. Alex came over Friday evening with a duffel bag and a nervous smile. We ordered takeout, drank a couple of beers on the couch, and talked really talked about everything we’d been avoiding.
