Crossing the Line

The champagne was already singing in my veins, warm and fizzy, making my skin feel hypersensitive. Henry’s words still echoed in my ears “I’m going to make you feel everything your ex never could.” I set my empty flute down on his desk with a soft clink, my hands slightly trembling with anticipation.
