The Encounter

The rain hammered against the tall glass windows of the Skyline Bar like it was trying to break in. I sipped my martini, the sharp bite of gin cutting through the warmth pooling low in my belly. New York City at night always felt alive, but tonight it pulsed with something dangerous. My red dress clung to every curve short enough to draw eyes, tight enough to remind me I still had power. The neckline dipped low, showcasing the soft swell of my breasts, and the hem rode high on my thick thighs when I crossed my legs.
