Chapter One

Nora’s POV

The security gate had already rattled down for the night when the side door buzzed.

I froze with the keys still in my hand, heart giving one hard kick against my ribs. Closing shift meant empty floors, dimmed lights, and the low hum of the climate system nothing else. No one booked appointments this late. I crossed the showroom floor, heels quiet on the polished concrete, and checked the small monitor beside the staff entrance.

A man stood under the outdoor light. Tall. Dark coat. Hands in his pockets. He looked straight into the camera like he already knew I was watching.
