I just nodded and smiled. I wish I could say something he was about to open his mouth but he stopped when the Señyora spoke again.

"Now you're going to start as Kenzo's assistant. I hope it's all right with you, Selena?" I don't have a choice, do I? I just nodded even though I felt like I was going to ruin it.

"Don't worry and your job will be easy, Hija, just follow my son and you know that he is not that familiar with the Hacienda."

Señyora, it looks like he won't disappear because Señorito is already big, I answered in my mind.

"Señorito," I called him softly. What does he want to happen? Why is he doing this? I'm also very nervous because I'm not used to this. Even Marco doesn't do it to me. When we were so close to each other, I could smell his minty breath.

He was still busy on his cell phone and I was still hoping that he would look up when he answered my question so I was really looking forward to him, just in case he just shook his head.

I stared for a few minutes, hoping that he would at least look up, but he didn't, until he seemed to feel that I wasn't even moving.

"You can go for now; I'll call if you I need something you have to do for me." After he said that, he turned the swivel chair he was sitting on to face the glass wall where he could see their vast land.

I bit my lower lip and then bowed to leave the library where the Señorito was in his office. I don't know, but I was lost in the mode that I didn't even notice that I walked towards my stable with Julia and the others horse

"Just not hungry." I answered him. He nodded and then changed the topic.

"The gang is inviting us to go to my fiesta in town tonight! They told me to take you with me when we're done here at the hacienda."

"I can follow, I'm just going to say goodbye to Dad –" But before I could finish what I was going to say, he immediately cut me off.

"It's a scratchy excuse! I've lost count of how many times you've said that but the ending is that you don't show up! There's no Lena who follows the gang's ways!"

"But they might worry, Mom, if I don't let them know." We also don't have cellphones that we can use to message each other.
