Myles' POV

I know that Ethan and Chloe would also like to see me, but I wasn't in the mood to see them. I wanted to find Carol and learn more about my mother. Thankfully, the court granted me leave for today.

I spotted her just about to leave the court premises, and I went to her.

She smiled at me. "Do you want to talk to me?"

She sounded so soft, and her voice was and the way she was looking at me was too gentle. It was strange, and it made me cringe.

"Can we talk?"
