The surrounding murmurs hushed to whispers, then silence, as the pianist's music and voice mesmerised everyone. I was entranced, too - by the way his eyes locked onto mine, never wavering, and seemed to rest on my face like calm waters.
"Zora..." Chris was saying. His voice was a distant hum, but I tuned him out.
