Chapter 5

Chapter 5

Jaden and Jenna decided to take a walk on the beach after dinner. They were leaving the Hamptons in the morning, so his dads didn't want them out too late. They snuck onto his family yacht, Oakley, after the staff had left.

Jenna climbed on the top deck bed and hovered above him as the cool breeze whipped her blonde hair around. He smiled instantly, wrapped his hand around the back of her head and pulled her down. His lips captured hers and slowly he rolled her so he was on top.

He laughed and kissed her forehead. "Jenna, you're so beautiful." His voice felt like silk against her neck. Her body tensed. "Are you okay?" Jenna shook her head yes, and he smiled. "I'm sorry! I've just had the best time with you and I'm not ready to go home tomorrow."

Jaden sighed as he pulled her close and kissed her neck. Jenna smiled now that he was continuing where he left off. Jaden moaned as he ran his hand down the side of her body and gripped the bottom of her top. Jenna's lips only left his for a second as he pulled his top over his head. His whole body felt like it was on fire. Everywhere she touched made his skin tingle. Her hands caressed his chest and back tenderly.

"Maybe we should stop." He made it sound almost like a question. "Someone could catch us..." Her eyes were alight with lust and excitement, definitely showing that she wanted to continue. She shook her head playfully and took her shirt off. Jaden kissed Jenna deeply and then smiled.

"I want you." She whispered. Her voice was thick with lust as she kissed his ear. She sighed as she laid her head on his chest. "It took so long for us to get to this place, babe. I waited, because I've only ever wanted you," she whispered, unashamed. "I love you, Jaden." He felt pressure on his lips and kissed her back.

Their families had been friends since before Jaden was adopted and he knew how special that was to everyone. He followed willingly as she grabbed his hand and led him downstairs to the Master bedroom on the lower deck. They kissed passionately as they continued to undress. "Are you sure?" Jaden asked, as Jenna stood naked in front of him. She looked at him, nodded and smiled.

Jaden opened his eyes slightly later on that night as the light in the bathroom flickered. He heard rumpling, but wasn't ready to deal with what was on the other side of the door. I guess we're doing this now then! Jaden thought as he scratched the back of his head before getting up.

As he got closer, Jaden could see Jenna leaning over the trashcan. "Jenna, what's wrong?" He asked, startling her. "Nothing," she laughed nervously. "I guess Helen's couscous didn't sit well with me tonight." Liar. He never liked the couscous, but Jenna lived for it. "What's really going on?"

Jaden could see the anguish building up on her face and before he could stop himself he began to laugh. "What? Why are you laughing?" She asked bewildered. "Oh, just because I flushed the condom you're obviously so desperately looking for." Jenna's eyes grew wild.

"What are you talking about? I wasn't looking for..." Jaden stopped her. "Jenna Michelle Lancaster, we have known each other since we were kids, so I know when you're lying!" He snapped. She looked down embarrassed. "I'm so sorry, Jaden. I thought that..." Jaden laughed. "You thought you could find the condom I used, poke a hole in it and make it seem like I got you knocked up." Jenna's once loving eyes turned cold. "You think you're so smart don't you." Jaden sighed, as he looked her over.

"I am actually quite smart, but I couldn't take all the credit for figuring this all out. Micah Jones is a diabolical genius for sure. Unlike me, he was unaware that the Lancaster Company has been going down in stocks and that you figured getting your hooks into my family would save your ass. I'm not going to lie, Jen, you had me fooled for quite some time. I'm just glad I never fucked you until tonight or that baby in your belly could have been mine."

Jaden walked back into the room to turn on the big screen. As the TV came to life, Jenna could make out naked pictures of herself in the slide show. "Oh my gosh!" She gasped. "I know right. They really are quite stunning for an amateur camera. I guess Micah thought screwing the Lancaster heir and getting it on tape would be worthwhile. And now you two have a precious bundle of joy as a prize."

Immediately the surround sound in the lower deck filled with moans and screams as the sex tape played. "Don't worry, Jenna, I've already sent it to your parents just so they're aware of what will be coming their way."

The range of expressions playing out on her face was comical, but Jaden was over it. "If you knew all this time then why didn't you say anything? Why were you so loving and caring all weekend?" Jenna scowled. "Are you kidding? Why would I risk not getting the numerous blow jobs you so graciously provided?" Jaden chuckled throwing her clothes at her.

"Now, get your shit and get the fuck off of my boat!" Immediately, Jenna began to think of ways to salvage the situation. "Jaden, I'm so sorry! I shouldn't have slept with Micah. It was a mistake. A one time–," Jenna pleaded as she followed Jaden upstairs still half naked. "Let me make it up to you. I'll blow you and remind you why we're good together."

Usually, when Jenna so generously offered to wrap her lips around him and suck him into oblivion, he wasn't ever turning her down. Except for now. In this case, it was NOT happening. She sidled up to him and tried to wrap her naked body around him boa constrictor style.

Jaden loved Oakley, but for the first time he had wished he was anywhere but there. He gently removed her arms from around his neck. "Jenna, not going to happen." She pulled back with raised brows. "You're seriously turning me down?" He bit the inside of his cheek to keep from laughing at the incredulity in her tone. Jenna was the youngest and only girl of 4 Lancaster children and was not used to hearing no.

"I'm not even mad about Micah. I have to give you points for fucking a black dude. Your baby could have passed for mine if Micah hadn't filled me in. Your parents are going to lose it and I really wish I could see their face when they see the tape. But truth be told, it was nearing time for this to be over anyway."

He grabbed his shirt and dressed himself. "Why can't you see that we'd be good together?" She pleaded and it began to irritate him. "One, because we're not. Two, I have zero plans on becoming a Daddy to a kid that's not mine."

Jaden had no delusions about why she wanted to be with him in the first place. Initially it was due to his looks to get a rise out of her conservative family. Then as he grew in status and her family declined it became more apparent that Jenna wanted a stable financial and social connection. She was willing to have it by any means necessary.

Jenna glared as she placed her jeans on. "I know your reputation, Jaden. The girls you've been with. Women talk. Jaden Zazo-Kepner, the devil himself in the sack. I made a mistake with Micah, but you can't walk away from me. We're not done." His stomach knotted.

She wasn't wrong. There had been a string of women. More than he could remember and it wasn't something he was proud of, but they were never official so he didn't feel bad about that. The girls were distractions, including Jenna. After the first call from Travis, he was shaken up and unsure of everything and needed an escape.

The fear and despair had made him spin out and he'd gone a little bit out of control. The guy he'd been then would have taken the blow job and then walked away. But he was trying to not be that person anymore.

"Jenna, I'm only going to say this once. Don't ever call or come near me. Don't ever come near my family. Don't speak to us in public – although I doubt you'll be anywhere near our circles." He smirked as he began to descend from the ship.

"Also, if you ever try to say or do anything to hurt me or my family, I will ruin you." As he walked down the pier, he called out to her, "there will be cops and paparazzi here in 2 minutes, so I suggest you make yourself scarce." He never looked back.

The sun was rising when he finally made his way to his family's Hampton home. He knew his dads would be passed out, so he would fill them in when they woke up. "Good Morning, Mr. Jaden." Ms. Nina had been their housekeeper, maid and cook since before he was adopted.

She was the sweetest person he had ever known and was definitely the type of woman he thought of whenever he heard the word Grandmother. He could smell her famous cinnamon pancakes as he entered the foyer. "Good Morning, Ms. Nina. I see you're making pancakes. Please tell me you've made..." Before he could finish Ms. Nina brought out a pan of fluffy scrambled eggs. "Of course!" She beamed.

"You're back early. We all thought you and Ms. Jenna would be back later today." Jaden tried to hide his annoyance at the sound of her name, but Ms. Nina picked up on his expression. "What was that face for? Don't tell me there's trouble in paradise!" Jaden heard her sarcasm and laughed.

"It was never paradise Ms. Nina and you know that." She had never liked Jenna or her pretentious brothers. On the drive back, Jaden realized that the only good thing about being with Jenna was the time he got to spend with her grandparents. They were good people despite their rotten children and grandchildren and didn't deserve the hand they were dealt in family and current business status.

"What happened now? What tantrum did little Miss Sunshine throw this time?" Ms. Nina wiped her washed hands on her pristine white apron before sitting beside him. As he rehashed the PG-13 events of the night with her, he smiled at her evolving facial expressions.

Jaden could always open up to his dads about what was going on in his life, but Ms. Nina understood him on a different level. As an older Black woman, she understood how things were and also how things were perceived. He loved everything his dads had given him and continue to provide, but as he got older, he realized that without them beside him to the world he was just another Black man.

"I told you that heifer was no good!" Ms. Nina fumed. Jaden smiled as he put his hand over hers. "I know, but you don't have to worry about her anymore. She will not be coming around here." Jaden patted. "Who won't be coming around anymore?" Roger asked, already knowing the answer to the question.

"Dad, don't act like you weren't ease dropping," Jaden said nonchalantly. He understood Roger's mannerisms to a tee. "It seems your son has caught you, yet again." Christopher laughed. "The two of you are the worst. It's not eavesdropping, but rather a collection of data." They all laughed.

This was how things had always been with them. Jaden reading Roger, while he and Christopher ganged up on him. It was one of the main reasons Christopher and Roger chose Jaden when they were ready to adopt. Roger initially wanted an infant, like a majority of adoptive parents, but he noticed Jaden and Christopher playing an intense round of Connect Four and was smitten.

'Do you know what your next move is?' Christopher asked through furrowed brows. 'I do and I'm not telling you, so don't even think about sweet talking me!' Young Jaden retorted before sliding the final piece. 'Connect Four!' He smirked.

"I can't believe that tramp! After everything we've done for her. I thought you two could have had something real!" Jaden shrugged. Roger was a hopeless romantic. It was what made his relationship with Christopher so much fun. They were complete opposites. "It's okay, Dad. It really is. I'm leaving for Texas soon and really hate being the bad guy. This was an awesome out!"

Christopher shook his head. "I don't understand how your generation deals with relationship nowadays." Ms. Nina chuckled. "What's so funny?" He asked confused. "Oh nothing. You just sounded so much like your father when he used to ask you the same question." Christopher's cheeks flushed.

I forgot Ms. Nina worked for Mimi and Grandpa when she was in school. "Interesting. Grandpa gave you the same speech? What were you up to that required a lecture?" Christopher looked away as he pretended to shuffle through paperwork. "Nothing on the level of your current situation. Besides, we're not talking about me – we're talking about you."

He wasn't getting off that easy. "Were you breaking hearts left and right in your youthful years?" Jaden chuckled as Roger's eyebrows rose in anticipation of his answer. "Let's just say I went through my Shawn Michaels routine in high school."

Jaden laughed as they all sat down for breakfast. "Seriously, J, I want you to be careful." Christopher warned. "Things like this happen all the time to the sons and daughters of socialites." Roger sighed. "Unfortunately, it's part of the territory." Jaden thought back to the story Roger had told him about a stable boy when he was younger.

The boy tried to blackmail him for being gay, but didn't know that Grandma and Papi had already known. He was fired, blackballed and forced to relocate to find a job. "I know they do and I am careful. I'm not the same person I was freshman and sophomore year. I honestly thought Jenna would be different, but now I see that's not possible."

Anyone who knows who I am will be after my family's money. Anyone who doesn't know who I am will probably be uninterested. Anyone who knows who I was... Jaden didn't let the thought take root.

"Much needed change of subject: Fish Fest this weekend!" Jaden smiled. He had only been to Austin once for tours and registration. His dads were swamped, so Grandpa, Christopher's father, took him. He was a proud alumnus of Texas University and made the trip unforgettable.

Jaden learned a lot about the school's traditions and history, but was eager to go back to see it all again on his own. "Are you excited?" Roger asked through a mouthful of scrambled eggs. "Very. I need to finish packing." Christopher nodded. They talked about what the week had in store and he could tell his fathers were already starting to miss him.

Jaden was able to get the syllabus for his core classes, so he planned on getting his textbooks while there to help prep before fall. Reading, regardless of the content, always helped Jaden escape.

He would lose himself in the world of fiction that the author had created or learn scientific facts and research findings with studies and forget the real world and its many secrets and scars. Knock. Knock.

Christopher peaked into Jaden's room when there was no answer and smiled. He stared at his son who managed to fall asleep with an unnecessarily large book on his chest. He removed the book gently in an attempt to avoid waking him and failed.

Jaden opened one eye and stared back at his dad. "Sorry," Christopher whispered. Jaden huffed. He was never a happy camper after a nap - even when he woke up on his own terms. "What's going on with you, J? You seemed off at breakfast and I know it's not the Jenna stunt. You okay?" Christopher asked giving Jaden that familiar 'don't you bullshit me' look.

Jaden knew he wouldn't be able to let his mood slide. If it were any other time, he could have. But this was different. Travis had been emailing him more than usual and he was ready to get to Austin to finally figure out what he wanted and put an end to it all.

He obviously had to leave out this fact. Instead, he told his father what he knew would be reiterated to Roger and appease them both. "I'm sorry, Dad. I guess I'm just a little nervous about moving." It wasn't a total lie. "I am very proud of you!" Jaden looked confused. "Did you hear what I just said? You're proud of me...for what?"

"College is an awesome experience. You're going to grow and learn so much. Don't you worry, son! Just focus on school and making quality friends." Jaden smiled. Quality friends. We'll see if I'll make any friends without the comforts of Manhattan surrounding me.

"In a few days, you'll be in Austin, Texas – starting a whole new chapter!" Christopher beamed. Jaden wasn't a role model Christian, but in that moment he prayed harder than he had in a long time that his dad was right.

I'll be alone again. The thought frightened him more than anything. He wanted to go to NYU originally, but when Travis found out that he was in Manhattan and who had adopted him he opted for the farthest school to keep his dads safe. He was going to figure out how to handle the whole situation before anyone got hurt. Before anyone figures out what kind of monster I am.
