After I said this, I saw a look of surprise in Charles' eyes.

Perhaps it was because I was so determined that Charles did not object to what I said. He said "Yes" and then turned to leave the bedroom. He did not forget to close the door as he left, so Nyx and I could talk.

"Nyx, I'm sorry, I was distracted." I'm very sorry, and had a bitter smile. "Could you please tell me again why you're here?"

"Selena, none of this matters." Nyx looked at me and sighed. "I'd like to know what happened after you left the Moon Sea Pack last time."
