I continued to push through the opening; it was like a maze, like an underground passage. My body was exhausted, and my senses became heightened, but the disorientation of the tunnel began to weigh me down. It began to wear on him. The air in the maze felt colder than ever. Earlier the shadows kept playing constant tricks on my mind.

I reflected on what was at stake, what I needed to achieve and my purpose of making sure I left this hole. Failure meant losing Lena and my child and the fight against Zane forever.
