Penelope’s POV:

My eyes flutter open from a dreamless slumber to an unfamiliar surrounding.

I’m lying in my bed, and the air smells of pine and rosewood. The low hum of the AC weird, unlike the one in my apartment. For a few seconds, I’m completely out of it.

I sit up in bed and look around. I’m in a luxury hotel suit, and outside the floor to ceiling windows, it’s still dark.

My entire body feels like I had received the beating of my life before I passed out cold. Sleep still lingering in my eyes, I drag myself up from the bed and to the bathroom. I splash...
