I hurriedly went on my knees picking the dismantled items fixing them to the dented box.

“I know who you are, the hole you crawled out from and your stupid recycled speech won’t win me over. Salvatore might be blinded by your fake persona and the lies you’ve fed him but don’t you worry. Soon he’ll know who you truly are and send you back to the gutters.”

Does she know I was on my own in my sad little life at that church when he offered the deal? How poorly she thinks of Salvatore to pick a random stranger without doing his due diligence. Just as guilty...
