I watched as Eamon left the room, a mixture of frustration and longing bubbling inside me. The way he had showered me with affection and attention this morning had been overwhelming. I knew he was trying to make amends, to bridge the chasm that had formed between us, but I wasn't sure if I was ready to let my guard down.
