Alice looked at Devon, who stopped what he was doing. She wondered what was wrong. Devon dropped his hand from the doorknob and turned to Lilac out, who stood a few feet away from them.

Lilac walked forward and asked what was wrong

“What’s going on Devon?”

“I need you to stay here with Alice,” He replied to her, and she nodded. Devon turned to look at his mate and gave her an assuring smile before walking out of the room.

Alice attempted to follow him out but Lilac stopped by holding her arm lightly.

“He will be back, don’t worry,” she assured her brother’s mate.
