When Xander helped her stand up before she could say anything he got a text and it was from the orphanage so he texted back letting them know he was on his way and then he gave her a glance and left immediately.

She called out to him saying hey!! But Xander ignored her and drove off then in anger she said “what a rude man, he saved me from falling and didn’t even have the decency to talk to me, he looked down on me and drove off, that’s the problem with rich people always thinking everyone is beneath them, I hope I never see him again”

Just then the old lady came out and when she saw her, she called out to her “Emma my child, how are you doing” Emma rushed and gave the old lady a hug and expressed her excitement to see her after a long time.

They went in and Emma immediately wore an apron, the old lady asked her “don’t tell me you came all the way to see me just so you can do chores”

Emma said to her “but grandma you know I love doing this whenever I come here, it gives me joy to know I can be of help to you”

The old lady was still being adamant and told Emma she had to go sit and asked her “remember the doctor clearly told you to rest so why are you working yourself up so much and please tell me you have taken your medication”

Emma sighed putting her hand on her forehead and said to the old lady “yes I have taken my medications and my mother and siblings made sure of that so please can I help and besides the doctor said I can do little exercises so this will serve as an exercise for me so please let me do this, they never let me do anything at home I am practically treated as an egg so please”

The old lady looked at her cute baby blue eyes and said “okay fine but if you feel tired please make sure you sit down okay” and Emma said “yes!!” then she went ahead to serve the customers at the restaurant.

Xander stopped by a mall that was newly acquired by the Cage enterprise which was along the way to the orphanage to get gifts for the children, he got in and bought lots of gifts for them, the gifts could not enter his car because it was a sports car so he dropped the location of the orphanage and asked that the gifts get there on time, so Xander left, got into his car and drove off to the orphanage.

On arriving at the orphanage Xander saw a black car parked right in front and he could sense a very strong energy coming from it, as he walked towards the car, the car drove off so he looked at the orphanage and for a moment there he was worried but he built up his courage and went in.

Getting in the children saw him and ran towards him shouting uncle Cage is here and that alerted some of their care givers who came out and said hi to Xander.

The owner of the orphanage came out and said “Good day Mr. Cage let’s go to my office” just before Xander joined the owner in her office the truck arrived and he told the care givers to make sure the gifts are distributed to all the kids and also, he got them some gifts, they thanked Xander, he smiled and left to go have his meeting with the owner.

Xander got into Mrs Ortega the owner of the orphanage’s office, she offered him a seat, he sat down and the only thing she asked him was “Mr. Cage, why do you want to buy this orphanage” Xander said to her “because my family lives here” she looked at him puzzled and asked that he gives her a clearer answer, and he said to her “ I am an orphan who never had the opportunity to meet his parents, my father died before I was born in an accident and the shock led by mum to go into early labour and after that she died too, I was raised by a total stranger who in turn has become family to me” he stood up and walked towards her book shelf and continued “it wasn’t easy growing up but somehow I managed to do it and here I am standing before you a successful businessman, I want to give these children the opportunity to grow in the best environment, go to the best schools and also get the best jobs”.

Mrs Ortega impressed by Xanders speech asked “you don’t have to buy the orphanage to do that and Xander said to her, “I thought so too until I heard buying orphanages had become a business for people all in the bid to build their company’s reputation but I am not after that.

I honestly don’t want the public to know I bought this orphanage, or any of the ones I bought.

My buying the orphanage is just to protect it from poachers that’s all so when someone comes to buy the orphanage you can say you just run it but it’s not yours and even if they try to find out who bought it, they won’t be able to.

I want to safeguard the children and everyone who works here but I can only do that if you let me take on the burden of the orphanage.

Mrs Ortega stood up and paced around her office a bit before sitting down and told Xander congratulations you are now the new owner of The New dawn orphanage.

Xander smiled and thanked her, and she said to him “Mr. Cage it will surprise you to know that I did a thorough investigation on you the moment your company’s CEO came and made your interest in buying the orphanage known and I must say you are a good man, and you know what else I discovered, it’s that your company’s shares skyrocket not just because of the business decisions you make but also because they can trust their business in the hands of a good man, so congratulation to you.

Xander shooked hands with her, signed all the legal documents and told her that “there is going to be a reformation that will change not just the lives of the children but also the life of the people who take out time to care for these children.

Mrs Ortega smiled and told him thank you once again. Xander asked that the acquisition be kept a secret from the other staff and then he signed a check and handed it to Mrs Ortega, she smiled and asked what the check is for and he said that is going to be the new monthly salary for the her and the care givers of the orphanage, she thanked him from the bottom of her heart and tears almost rolled down her cheek and he told her people will be coming from three different schools to register the kids for admission so they can start as soon as possible and he told her not to worry about anything that his CEO and just then Thomas walked in and he told Mrs Ortega that Thomas will be in charge of everything and if she needs anything she should reach out to Thomas and he will relay it to him.

They greeted each other and left.

On Thomas’ way out he bumped into Emma and he immediately apologized to her she smiled and told him not to worry and they both parted ways just about when she turned, she bumped into Xander and just like before he caught her again and when he stood her up firmly, he was quiet for a moment because in his head he was wondering how he could have bumped into the same person the same way on the same day.

Emma snapped her fingers at Xander and said hello! Mr. bumper the second time and yet no apology, Xander was about to apologize then she cut him off and said “what’s it with you rich people you make a mistake but can’t apologize”.

Xander was about to apologize yet again and she continued scolding him, he saw a rose flower in a vase just behind her and as he was walking towards her, she was taking steps backward asking Xander what he was trying to do till she almost hit the vase and he held her again saving her from falling, got the flower gave it to her and then he left.

For a moment there Emma thought she was in a scene from a romantic movie she forgot she was mad at Xander and blushed a little then she snapped out of it put the flower in her bag and went in to see the kids.

Xander realized he forget his handkerchief in the orphanage and drove back to get it, he got to the orphanage got the handkerchief from a care giver who picked it and then he left, just about when he left the orphanage he noticed the same black car that was parked in front of the orphanage earlier, the car was on full speed and when he turned he saw Emma standing making a phone call, for normal humans before they get to Emma she would have been hit already however, Xander has the speed of lightning but instead of going to stop Emma he stopped the vehicle in an instant and brought out the person driving the car but before he could question the person the turned pale vanished and turned to dust, this was something Xander had never seen before and he was left with thoughts of what that thing was and why it was after Emma.
