“W-What?” I breathed nervously.

I was staring at her while she stared back at me and I was shocked when she lifted her arm and gently caressed my cheek.

“Why are you crying, mommy? I just had a dream about a baby brother. I didn’t mean to scare you.”

I quickly shook my head and wiped my own tears before I looked at her again. “Why? Do you want a brother?”

Her hopeful eyes twinkled. “Yes, I really want a brother or even a sister. I would really love to play with my siblings because it sometimes feels sad playing along but…”
