My eyes widened at the sight of Noah, who stared at Adrian awkwardly, proving Adrian had no idea he had come here.
“Noah,” I said softly as he turned his gaze to me. A smile curled onto his lips as he sprinted toward me and ducked into my arms.
“Mummy.” He chuckled, and I pulled him up. His face was stained with a bit of flour, and he was wrapped in an apron.
“How did you get here?” Adrian spoke, his voice frighteningly calm—too calm.
“I asked the butler nicely.” He smiled, showing his perfect teeth.
“Why don't I believe you?”
