I was sitting in class when I got called down to the office. I didn’t understand why. I had kept my head down and did my work.

Kids would pick on me, but I would always stay to myself. It was a lonely existence that I had become accustomed to.

I walked into the office, and the principal and a man stood there.

“Follow me, Alex.” The principal gestured to me.

I followed them to his office, and he closed the door. The man stood there, stoic, and I looked at both.

“Alexandra, we have decided that starting next year, you will attend Saintwood High.”
