**Chapter 5**

**Chapter 5**

**Sabrina’s Chamber**

“Mara, what’s happening in the castle?” Sabrina asked, pacing slowly.

Her personal maid bowed. “An omega from the meadow attacked one of the guards in charge of the clan’s farmlands, my lady.”

“An omega?” Sabrina’s brows drew together.

“Yes, my lady.”

Sabrina tapped her fingers against her arm. “I heard Samantha is in the castle. Invite her to my chambers at once.”

“As you wish.” Mara bowed and hurried out.

“An omega…” Sabrina muttered to herself. Omegas were supposed to be weak. Fragile. So why did the news of this one sitting in the castle make her stomach twist? *No. She’s no ordinary omega.*

“My lady,” a guard called from the doorway, snapping her out of her thoughts. “Lady Samantha is here to see you. Shall I let her in?”

Sabrina slipped on her night robe. “Let her in.”

The door opened and Samantha stepped inside, bowing gracefully.

“Wise One,” Sabrina said with a warm smile. “You don’t have to bow to me.” She waved a hand at the maids. “Leave us.”

The maids quickly filed out.

As soon as the door closed, Sabrina’s expression changed. “Wise One, I sent Mara to fetch you, but it seems you were already on your way.”

“I was,” Samantha replied, her voice serious. “You need to act fast, my lady, or your position will be taken from you.”

Sabrina’s heart stuttered. “What are you talking about?”

“The omega they brought from the meadow…” Samantha paused, eyes locked on hers. “She is the Alpha’s mate.”

“Never.” Sabrina’s voice cracked with a mix of fear and fury. “An omega? The Luna of Snow Pack? Ace would never accept her. He’ll reject her on the spot.”

“The Moon Goddess works in mysterious ways,” Samantha said calmly. “The Alpha is ruthless, cold-hearted. Mating him to a weak omega might be exactly what’s needed to soften him.”

“Enough!” Sabrina spun around, chest heaving. “I have waited years for the day Ace announces me as Luna. I will not let some filthy omega ruin everything I’ve built. I’ve stood by his side through everything.” Her eyes burned. “Take me to her. Now.”

“As you wish, my lady.”

Samantha turned and walked out. Sabrina followed close behind, her night robe swirling like dark smoke.

**Samantha’s Bedroom**

Sabrina stood at the foot of the bed, glaring down at the sleeping girl.

Amora stirred. The moment her eyes opened, confusion hit her. She was lying on a soft bed — something she hadn’t done in years. She bolted upright and scrambled off the mattress, only to crash straight into a warm body.

She screamed and stumbled backward, landing hard on the floor.

Sabrina stared down at her with open disgust. *How can this weak little pup possibly be his mate?*

Amora trembled, pressing herself against the side of the bed. She hadn’t even noticed that her deep silver cuts were completely healed.

“Hey, little one,” Sabrina crouched in front of her and roughly grabbed her chin. “You must have suffered so much.”

Samantha stood a few steps away, shaking her head at Amora’s torn, blood-stained dress. “But you don’t belong here,” Sabrina continued, voice sweet but poisonous. “You should return to your own people.”

Samantha nodded in agreement.

“Good. Get up.”

Amora shakily rose to her feet. Sabrina’s maid, Mara, moved closer as well.

“Leave the castle right now,” Sabrina ordered. “And make sure no one sees you. Do you understand?”

“My lady,” Samantha interrupted, pulling Sabrina aside. “What if the Alpha finds out? He’ll have my head. You’re his mistress — he might forgive you, but me…”

“Enough, Samantha. Nothing of the sort will happen.”

They stepped back into the room.

Amora bowed low. “Thank you for healing my wounds.”

Samantha offered a gentle smile. *Such a sweet child. She would make a perfect Luna for Snow Pack.* But aloud she only said, “It’s nothing. Now go.”

Amora didn’t hesitate. She opened the door and rushed out into the hallway. Sabrina rolled her eyes at Samantha. “Wise One, your kindness will be rewarded.” “Thank you, my lady.” Samantha bowed.

As Amora’s small figure disappeared down the corridor, sneaking toward the exit, Sabrina watched with cold eyes.

*He can never find you,* she thought. *Never.*

**Alpha’s Chamber**

“Ace.”

Alpha Ace slowly turned his head. “What did you just call me?”

“Ace,” Carla repeated, smirking. “Of course.”

“I am still your Alpha,” Ace growled, eyes flashing. “Address me properly.” Carla scoffed. “I bring news about the omega. Something tells me she’s no ordinary girl.” Ace narrowed his eyes. “Why?”

“She seemed… bold. Fearless, even while bleeding and broken.”

Ace’s lips curved into a dangerous smirk. “Then I’d like to see her.”

“Not now, Alpha. She’s still undergoing treatment under Samantha.”

“What?” Ace snapped. “I didn’t summon Samantha here to play healer for some random omega.”

“As your Beta, I gave the order,” Carla said evenly. “She was cut with a silver blade. She was dying.”

Ace dragged a hand through his hair, then grabbed a cup of water and downed it in one go. “You okay?” Carla asked, watching him closely.

Ace set the cup down hard. “Want to go for a run? Or a race?” He glanced toward the window. “It’s a full moon. The night feels right.”

Carla grinned and mind-linked Jim immediately.

*Get the guards ready and saddle the horses. The Alpha and I are going hunting.* ---

**The Woods**

Minutes later, they thundered out of the castle gates. Alpha Ace and Carla rode at the front on powerful horses, a dozen guards following close behind.

“To the woods,” Ace muttered.

“The woods!” Knight, one of the lead warriors, shouted so everyone could hear.

Ace kicked his horse into a gallop first. Carla followed right behind, and the guards streamed after them like shadows.

---

**Deep in the Woods**

They finally slowed and dismounted. Ace, Carla, and Jim handed their reins to the guards.

“Ready?” Ace asked, rolling his shoulders.

Carla smirked. “I was born ready. Try to keep up — I’m about to kick your ass.” A few guards chuckled, but the laughter died the second Ace shot them a cold look. Almost at the same moment, both men began to shift.

Bones cracked and reshaped. Muscles tore and reformed. Fur burst across their skin as two massive wolves took their place — one pitch black, the other dark grey with silver streaks.

The guards dropped to one knee and bowed their heads in respect.

After a brief pause, the two wolves shot forward like arrows.

Their powerful paws slammed against the earth. Birds exploded from the trees in panic. The forest trembled under the thunder of their race.

Howls ripped through the night — raw, wild, and full of freedom — echoing between the trees as the full moon watched overhead.
