I watched Elsey as she became as rigid as a human mannequin. She must have studied my new expression to know that I was serious.
I was. I meant each word I said for my life depended on it, but am I allowed to tell that to her?
"What did you just say?" She questioned me with a hard breath. Her words whispered out of that whoops of air, and my lips pressed into a thin line.
